At Bio Health Center, menopause is the most common reason we are consulted about Hormone therapy. Most menopausal patients consult Dr. Edwards or Jean Malik, Advanced Practitioner of Homeopathy (AHP) about improving their Quality of Life and really not for the "health benefits" of hormones. Each woman facing the change of life should be counseled to consider the benefits of the four menopausal hormones: Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone and DHEA. Menopausal symptoms are primarily subjective, which means they cannot really be measured. What to do about menopausal symptoms is truly a matter of individual personal choice... and fortunately, there are many choices. These choices begin with personal education about what each of these hormones can and cannot do... their benefits, side effects, unknown's and toxicity. The philosophy at Bio Health Center is an informed choice can only be made by a truly informed patient. There is no "one size fits all" approach used here. We take the time and interest to fully explain each choice to the patient so they understand and feel comfortable with their selection.
Hormone therapy is also one of the few areas of medical practice where more than one person may be affected. Loss of Libido or Infertility are two common examples. Either condition can affect an entire family and Homeopathic Integrative therapy can be very effective in both conditions. In fact, Natural Infertility therapy is one of Bio Health Center's areas of specialization. Jean Malik, AHP was actually educated as a physician in her native Pakistan where she was trained in Internal Medicine and Gynecology. Although not licensed as a physician in the U.S, Jean is a Nevada certified Advanced Practitioner of Homeopathy and can practice Homeopathic Integrative therapy under that Nevada certification. Her area of clinical expertise is hormone replacement and natural infertility therapy. Whether it is an infertility, menopausal or premenstrual syndrome problem, Jean's expertise with Homeopathic Integrative methods has helped many patients.
Anti-Aging hormone therapy is another area that Dr. Edwards finds especially rewarding. Whether for a simple Anti-Aging consultation regarding life-style, diet and vitamin supplement program or for evaluation for full Anti-Aging hormone therapy, including Human Growth Hormone (hGH) for adult growth hormone deficiency, Dr. Edwards is a charter member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and experienced in all aspects of anti-aging therapy. At Bio Health Center we recommend only Bio-Identical "Natural hormone therapy" be used, whenever possible, whether for Menopause, PMS, Infertility or Anti-Aging therapy.
