» Mind Body Therapy
Within the past decade there has been an increasing interest by conventional medical researchers in the field of what is now referred to as "Mind-Body Therapy." A number of "unconventional" forms of natural therapy that are "believed" by scientists to work through the "power of the mind" are suddenly being integrated into the halls of "scientific" hospitals. Methods such as "touch therapy," communing with pets, music therapy, rhythmic dance therapy and others are being reported daily by the media an "innovations" being integrated into standard care at local and nationally noted hospitals. In addition, a significant amount of federal tax dollars are being spent by the federal government to fund research into the value and mechanism(s) of action of various forms of these therapies, especially in chronic or serious diseases, like Cancer. Interestingly, Mind Body forms of healing are all forms of self-healing. This "fact" seems to be lost on conventional scientific researchers. They seem to be looking for something to "validate" that can then be packaged, patented or otherwise controlled for profit or ego. They don't seem to understand that Mind Body therapies all encourage healing from within.
Homeopathic Integrative health care has historically recognized the importance and power of a positive attitude in self-healing. In addition, from the Homeopathic perspective it is understood that in many cases self-healing cannot proceed due to "blockages," "toxicities" and other states of disturbed "Regulation." In essence, when the subliminal regulatory systems are involved in either causing the "Dis-Ease" or producing the symptoms, the patient will not be aware of the actual cause of disturbed regulation, only the problem(s) that it is causing. In these instances, a skilled and qualified practitioner is needed to facilitate the patient in overcoming the subliminal self-sabotaging physiologic dysregulation. While the term "Mind Body" therapy is used in conventional medicine to describe such forms of therapy, there is more involved than just the "mind." It is true that our unconscious can play a part in how we heal, but in most cases this state or Quality of "Stuckness," as Eastern practitioners would call it, is a function of disturbed autonomic neural Regulation. The disturbance may be on a Physical, Mental, Emotional or Spiritual level, but when properly identified and corrected a profound state of self-healing can follow.
When Regulation testing suggests that the problem is within the Emotional-Mental-Spiritual area then therapy is directed to the "root" of the problem. Methods such as Five Element Acupuncture, Meditation, Chi Kung, Flower Essence HomeopathicTherapy, Hypnotherapy, Autogenics, Prayer and others have all been shown to be beneficial in such cases. In addition to these, Dr. Edwards and the Certified staff of Bio Health Center commonly utilize Callahan's Thought Field Therapy (TFT) for such problems. Similar to NAET Allergy Therapy, TFT uses the Acupuncture "Energy Body" to deliver a series of "coded" treatments to the patient based on individualized testing and in a specific sequence which appear to "unlock" the state of Mental-Emotional-Sprirtual "stuckness" with uncanny speed and predictability.
TFT therapy is used for mental-emotional states of "Disease" that the patient is aware of. Primary diagnosis is done by conventional methods or can be done with muscle testing (kinesiology). Once the "root" of the emotional-mental state is diagnosed, TFT therapy can be rendered using a simple formula or by more specific diagnostic muscle testing. The basic treatment consists of the patient tapping on specific Acupuncture points while being "tuned" to the disturbing thought, emotion or feeling. Although it defies any conventional, western scientific medical explanation, the treatments have been found to be highly effective in a very high number of patients, exceeding 90% in Dr. Edwards experience. Not only is this method effective, but the clinical results in the vast majority of cases appear to be permanent, in at least 95% of cases.
